YARRAWONGA HEALTH CONFIRMS SECOND CASE RECORDED AT YH
Yarrawonga Health can confirm, a second positive test result for Coronavirus (COVID 19) following a presentation to Yarrawonga Health earlier this week.
Again, this person was also recently returned from overseas and was also following mandatory isolation requirements as per government regulation when they developed symptoms of COVID-19. Telephone contact was made first, followed by presentation to YH. Infection control procedures were implemented immediately and the process ran smoothly with the patient who was well enough to return home following assessment until test results were received. The person has remained at home, and is recovering and will continue with self-isolation.
Yarrawonga Health confirms that COVID-19 cases are expected to rise as the virus emerges into the region, and the COVID-19 situation evolves.
Yarrawonga Health reminds the community the best way to protect yourselves and your family, is to wash your hands regularly and cover your mouth and nose with your elbow when coughing or sneezing and maintaining a social distance of 1.5 metres. If you’re returning from overseas you must observe the mandatory quarantine period of 14 days. And of course, most importantly please stay at home.
Elaine Mallows, CEO of YH said “It is time for us to work together and focus not only on what confronts us today, but plan for tomorrow, taking steps to protect everyone in the community – and to stop the spread. I urge the community to please stay home, wash your hands regularly, and remember social distancing saves lives, in the meantime YH is working tirelessly on preparing our service for the forecast difficult months ahead."
