I have been a nurse at Yarrawonga health for nearly 19 years and I always wanted to be a midwife. When the opportunity became available to have a supported position through the hospital I was very happy I was accepted and so begun my midwifery career.

It is the best job - nothing could compare with the excitement and absolute privilege of being the person to first touch that little newborn head and to participate in the beginning of a new family or the joy of sharing that experience a second or third time.

I love caring for the women through their journey and being their when their baby is born. It still brings tears to my eyes.

Being a midwife is the best thing I have ever done other than being a mum myself. Every birth is special, but when the dad cries- that right there, is extra special.
