COVID-19 Update

Thursday, 11 November 2021

As COVID-19 continues to emerge within our region, Yarrawonga Health is advising the community, that a further 3 people who presented to Yarrawonga Health via the COVID-19 drive through testing clinic have tested positive to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

Yarrawonga Health is currently monitoring 5 active cases in the community on the COVID Positive Pathways program. YH continues to work with both NSW & VIC Public Health Units, and will communicate any information which is in the intrests of public health of our community as required.

The community can be reassured that anyone identified as a close contact of any case, or anyone who is a household contact of someone with COVID-19, will be notified by the contact tracing team or given advice from health authorities around their situation. A reminder to our community that the Department of Health is not publishing any sites that represent low risk of infection, or if they have sufficient record keeping and contact tracing measures in place, or are not attended by members of the public.

GETTING TESTED:

Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild, (such as fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of sense of smell, loss of taste, headache) should get tested immediately. Please note, some people with COVID-19 have reported symptoms of nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea with an accompanying headache so please do not dismiss these symptoms.

Do not delay getting a test for COVID-19 and stay at home until you receive your test result.

The Yarrawonga Health Drive through COVID-19 testing clinic operates 7 days a week 9.30am – 12.00pm and extended hours in line with community demand. Access via the Yarrawonga Fire Brigade Training ground, Woods Rd, Yarrawonga.

CEO Elaine Mallows urges the community to stay vigilant as restrictions ease. “As we continue to adapt to COVID normal, I remind the community the best way to protect yourselves and your family is to check in using the QR codes, wash your hands regularly, wear your mask and maintain a social distance of 1.5 metres wherever possible. During these times it is also important for us to support each other, show care, be alert and safe but also to be kind.”

Vaccination is available via ringing 03 5871 0950 or via your local trusted GP’s or pharmacies.
